Im still here . . . . .

Hooley dooley I didnt realise when the last time I blogged was! Over a whole year ago!! Extremely slack isnt the word lol.
So very much has been going on in my personal life that crafting and blogging has taken very much a back seat to life since my last post, but not to worry things are getting much better, things are falling into place and more importantly im feeling happy and content enough to start having the brain space to begin crafting again. In saying that ive been quite busy with my crafting but only working on cards for birthdays and gifts - everything else craft wise hasnt gotten very far at all lol.
So I thought while I was on the blog I should at least quickly post some of the projects ive been completing for family and friends special occassions :-) JUST need to remember how to post everything lol . . . .

In one of my last posts I posted that I was very lucky to have a friend on the Kaisercraft Design Team who had used a pic of my beautiful youngest in one of her layouts. I was very very nicely surprised to open up a Kaisercraft mini catalogue and find another layout featuring my beautiful girl with a pic that I had taken!!! My friend once again has done a brilliant job with this layout I just love it to bits and my then 3 yo Kaity was so excited to see herself in the catalogue :-)

These pics are in no particular order but just what I found when I was going through my saved photos. The card below I made for one of the girls at work (I work in childcare part time). Its using Kasiercraft's Utopia collection (which im not sure might be now deleted???) and inspired from their monthly mag. When I first saw these papers I must admit I wasnt a big fan of - but then when I saw the card made up in the mag I quite enjoyed the look of them. And of course as it turns out I absolutely loved working with the colours!! I used the 6x6 paper pad, kaisercraft cross grain ribbon, a kasier rub on and of course kaisercraft's bling flourish that I think just makes it. I also stitched it on the sewing machine. The birthday girl loved it as did all the others who took a turn to sign it. I was very please with the finished product aswell (which doesnt happen very often lol)

Coming up to christmas last year I was entirely UNprepared for the whole season. Realising one night that I hadnt even made the school teachers a card I stayed up very late one morning (until 2am!) making these three cards. Again I used Kasiercraft papers (Im pretty sure there is an obsession there! lol) Mint Twist the collection is called. I think this would have to be my most favourite christmas collection ever I adore all the bright colours and the cute little rub ons and collectables. Since christmas my local Spolight store has had all their christmas stock going out for less than half price and as a result I now have ALOT of mint twist papers all ready for this year lol. The stamp is from Stampin' Up (Frosty Friends).  My two school kids teachers and their chaplain absolutely loved the cards and were so genuinly greatful to receive handmade cards. I was very very pleased with how the cards turned out I didnt want too busy just nice simple plain cards and I think I achieved that objective :)

Wow so many more projects I can show you all but I think I'll stop for the moment, otherwise I'll be here all day and most importantly be probably boring the heck out of you lol. I hope to come back in the next few days and show you and to tell you about some more of the things Ive been up to and most importantly learning :-)

Until then I hope youve enjoyed taking a peak at my world

Happy crafting -xx-

TGIF :-D

Good afternoon :)

As my title says TGIF - Thank god it's Friday :) As im sure mostly everyone does I really look forward to Fridays sometimes it's because I've had a hard week, like the last few have been, sometimes it's because exciting things are happening on the weekend and sometimes every second friday it's because I get my children back from their Dad's house :) But today it's because they're going to their Dad's lol. Not to say I love "getting" rid of my children by any means but this last week has been a long one so it's nice to look forward to some adult Mummy time which includes drinks tonight for a work mates engagement party child free and without having to hassle my Mum for babysitting duties.

Anyway Im having an enjoyable Friday so far, dropped the little one off at daycare and hung around for a while chatting to the girls working, as it is also my work place. Now im home and feeling the urge to create for a change. Therefore I have a card below that I started colouring last night and put all together today to show you.

The image is a digi from Tickled Pink Stamps if you hurry over there for the next 24 hours they have an awesome sale on their digi's - cant complain about that! The digi Ive used is Party Pinkette August. I think she's super cute and of course couldnt be done in any other colour but my favourite - PINK I have used Copic markers to colour the image and the pinks I have used R81 R82 & R85 - My absolute favourite colour combination i dont think you can go wrong with those 3 colours. The paper is all from my cupboard so im not exactly sure where its all from. Of course my images would never be complete without my spicas pens!! Today ive used the clear one on her hair, her dress and her shoes :) I love that I was able to get out my sewing machine and sew around the edges as its only the second time Ive sewn on my cards I usually forget or cant be bothered lol. The bling is Kasiercraft and once again dont really do many projects without a bit of bling on them somewhere I think it just adds something special or extra to the piece.

Well I think thats enough for me for the moment. Its a beautiful day outside and a lovely relaxing day for crafting so I best be off and do some more before getting ready to go out later.

Im entering this card in Mad 4 Markers monthly challenge - Using R or RV

Happy crafting and hopefully you all have a relaxing weekend!

Missing in action . . . . . again

Lol yes once again I havnt blogged for an awfully long time. I have just now promised myself to make more of an effort to blog! And hopefully all things going well for me I will have a need to blog more often in the future lol. I have a little craft secret that I want one of my wonderful friends to discover on her own and not by me talking about it here hehehe.

Anyway while Im here I really wanted to show you all and tell you about the wonderful piece of news I have! One of my very creative and talented friends Cassandra who has been lucky enough to be on the design team at Kasiercraft this past year has whipped up a beautiful layout with kasiercraft's new papers "Lil Primrose" and has used a gorgeous photo I took of of my baby girl kaitlyn playing outside with daffodils one day last year. Im so excited as it was published in Kaisercraft's latest monthly magazine AND the actual layout has made its way over to America to be displayed on Kasiers stand at the yearly CHA show!!!!
When Cassie told me I was soo excited lol. So I went into the local scrapping shop saturday morning to get my copy. The smile on my face hasnt came off once for the last two days lol I just love the photo of my special baby girl and Cassie has done a great job making her look even more gorgeous. So a big thankyou to Cassie for making my kaity a little star in my eyes lol. Kaity will be soo excited to see it in the magazine lol. Here is the picture from the mag below :D

Last time I brought some card making magazines before xmas I got one with the most gorgeous little dinosaur stamps and papers so I think I might go put the kettle on and go and make up some cute little dinosaur cards just to have in the cupboard for emergencies, hopefully it will then inspire me to create something of my own.

Happy crafting :D

Crikey i have been a bit slack!

I cant believe I havnt blogged since August! - Well actually I can believe it ive just been so busy with my schooling, the kids and their school, birthdays etc etc. Its been a very hectic few months but hopefully its now started to settle a little, although now of course christmas and holidays are coming and now that ive completed my cert 3 in children's services I will be starting a part time job at my daughters daycare centre next wednesday so its busy but very exciting for me.

As a result of being just "slightly" busy over the last few months i havnt really had a chance to be crafty, of course that hasnt stopped me from buying cardmaking mags and oo'ing and ah'ing over all the lovely cards in them and thinking im going to do that when i have time lol. In saying that though I did surprise myself one weekend a few weeks ago by making 4 cards in 2 days! Now for some of you might think yeh thats what i do lol - but for me thats a fair effort to say the least at the moment so i was pretty stoked with myself and with how all 4 cards turned out! I got alot of lovely comments from the birthday girls and boy and some very encourgaing comments from other friends who have seen them. Anyway enough baffling from me the reason your here is to see cards!

The first card i made was for my gorgeous niece Emma who turned 9. I had a friend come over on the friday night with the mission in mind to complete Em's card and i pretty much finished it in one sitting lol

I must thank my wonderful friend CarlyW for teaching and showing me how to colour black hair! Its something I have wanted to do for ages but has always scared me lol. But for a first effort im pretty pleased with how the hair turned out. The image is of course a Tiddly Inks image called pinky. I just love tiddly inks digis! and thought this image would suit my niece down to a tea! I decided to throw a doily behind it just because it looked to be missing something and the bling is from kaszazz a scrapping party plan :)

I coloured a little cupcake that came with pinky and stuck it on the inside, i used glossy accents on the cupcake holder not that u can see it and used a cirlce border punch (that almost matches the doily on the front) for the inside of the cards to write on.

The second card of the weekend was a card for my sister who's birthday was the day after my neices! Didnt want to do anything too over the top on her card as shes just not like that, but loves butterflies so there had to be one on there somewhere lol

For this card being that I was pretty time poor I just wanted something quick and easy but something that still looked lovely. This card was inspired from a Kaszazz card quick kit that i had in the cupboard I just replaced the purple with blue bazzill bling and changed the design around a bit and added some different ribbon. I think it turned out rather lovely in the blue which is one of my sisters fav colours.

The 3rd card of the weekend was for a very insipiring friend who was turning 30. My lovely friend has just only in the last few months under gone a major life saving surgery. She has been so positive and ever so happy as always even knowing that any time any post operation issues could arise and the operation could have been an unfortunate failure. So we were all glad that she was here and well enough to celebrate her 30th, we gave her a huge fantastic night out on the town!

This card was also inspired form the same card kit as above, but I just decided to use a larger cards and add purple ribbon. The little square bling ribbon thingy doesnt come in the kit, i just had it in my cupboard and thought my friend would love it.

The 4th and final card for the weekend would have to be my absolute most favourite ever i think, Im really pleased with how it turned out and my nephew really liked it aswell so thats great. My nephew Liam, whos birthday is on halloween and the day after his mother's (which makes it 3 birthday in the same family in a row!) turned 16 this year. I cant believe it been 16 years since he was born! He is my oldest nephew and as a child was a rotten little thing for his mother, but as he got older he has done a complete 360 and has turned into the most repectful, highly intelliegent, humourous young man anyone could ever meet! Even he doesnt believe us when we tell him how horrible he used to be lol. He is a credit to himself, his mother and his stepfather. Im going to stop talking about him now as i can feel tears welling up lol, anyway back to his card

The image vampire lestat i think its called is from Tickled Pink Stamps I think he looks fantastic and fit the halloween theme very nicely and knew Liam would appreciate it. The stripy paper is something i found in my paperfile and is from basic grey its actually a christmas paper called figgy pudding but i thought the colours matched nicely and the dotty paper is Bo Bunny - harvest dots which i brought specifically for something else but ohwell i have some left over for my other project. I just used my black copic fineliner for the fake stitching because number 1 I couldnt be bothered getting my sewing machine out and number 2 i think for a 16 yo boy proper stitching might b a bit girly lol. Im pretty pleased with the colouring of his cape, although is not quite the red i had in mind but turned out well nonetheless. I have been encouraged by a friend to enter this card to tickled pink's guest DT call, but hmmm not sure if it would be good enough lol. Maybe i'll think about it and see anyway that was one long huge post with a lot of pics, so i had better get going and finish some other things before i head over to a friends house for coffee. Now that ive gotten into the blogging habit again hopefully i'll be back in a few days with another card made lol
Thanks for checking out my blog - happy crafting xx

So addicted . .

to anything space and robots at the moment. I have no idea why iam lol possibly its because the papers and stamps are just soo cute :)
Ive been so busy with sick kids and all other mumsy things this week that I havent been able to get enough time to blog. So while my oldest is having a sleep over at my mums and the younger two are in bed I thought id sit down and take the time to tell you about my lovely craft weekend away last week.

Five of my very good crafty friends and I decided to go away scrapping and crafting for the weekend to a country town called Buninyong - which for those of you who are unfamiliar is part of Ballarat in Victoria. Its a beautiful old town with gorgeous trees and scenery all around but . . it is also VERY cold at this time of the year lol. We arrived on the friday afternoon and after a trip to the local scrapping store called the Imagination Factory on Main road in Ballarat where I think we all purchased wayy to much lol we all headed back to start crafting. Many laughs were had by all and the old church where we were staying was just gorgeous!
Didnt really get as much things done as I would have liked to but just to get away for the weekend and not to have to worry about anything was worth it!
The card below was one of the cards I made over the weekend, not for anyone in particular but just because i love the image soo much and when I found the cuttlebug embossing folder I knew it would go with a space related stamp. I did make another special birthday card on the sunday that i cant show right now as its for my lovely friend Carly (Click on her name to go to her awesome blog and see her fantastic work) We havnt been able to catch up this week as yet so I wouldnt want her to see it up here on my blog first lol.
Anyway enough waffling, below is the space card I made :)

Not an overly close shot actually but couldnt resist getting the old singer sewing machine in the background! lol
I used Copics G07 and G14 im pretty sure once again just 2 markers lol. And for the spaceship I used the low C's sprry cant remember without getting them out to check lol. I used the Clear spica pen on the lights of the UFO to give it a nice effect - I just love spica pens lol. I also had an idea to use beads for his little antenna thingys lol. Then just used some coloured rubons in the green. I also stuck down some green rhinestones that I had in my drawers from when i used to be a Kaszazz consultant :) It was a great idea from a friend and I think it just gives it a bit extra.

Im entering this card into the Mad 4 Markers Spica pens challenge

Well I probably should get going to bed now its getting quite late in the night and i'm not feeling the best lol think my DD had given me her flu :(

Until next time happy scrapping :)

Congratulations . . .

to Linda (one of the wonderful mums at my children's school) on the birth of her beautiful daughter Chloe. Little Chloe was 3 weeks early so she's still in hospital, but Linda is home so I thought I should get my act together and make her and her family a card so its all ready for when I next see her.
My cards are usually pretty simple as anything
more than simple I sometimes struggle with so I do what I can do with ease lol. For Chloe's card I coloured in a baby magnolia image with R81 and R83 I wasnt after a really darkish hot pink but more lighter so thats why I chose just 2 markers to use. I would usually have used R85 in that combination aswell (as those 3 would have to be my fav colour grouping), but felt 2 was more of what I wanted to achieve. I also used W1 to colour in the frills on her suit and her wings. I then used my clear spica pen (I LOVE those pens lol) to go over the frills on her suit.

For the papers I used Kaisercraft's recent release "Lullaby" One of the pages in this collection has got colour blocks and A5 sized pieces already done so all you ne
ed to do is cut them out - Thats what I used for this card lol I know its cheating but at 1 in the morning I didnt really care too much lol. I used some of Kaisers paper bloom flowers and sprayed them with my "Vanilla Smooch Spritz" (Brought through Kaszazz) which
just gives them a nice subtle shimmery effect. Stuck them down with the awesome glossy accents and then got out my rubons for the sentiment and the love heart.

Im still trying to work out the best way to do these posts as in when I add the pics to get the best layout lol. Anyway I'll get there. Such a miserable raining morning here in Geelong today - Iam supposed to be going to watch a game of AFL later on this arvo but at this stage I think I'd much rather stay at home in front of my fire even if it does mean doing housework :)
Hope you have a great day where ever you are, Until next time

Happy crafting adventures -xx-
